Chesapeake Oyster Week: Eat Oysters, Support the Bay.

Buzz

Calling all seafood lovers, the Chesapeake Oyster Week is your chance to indulge in delicious oysters and make a positive impact on the Chesapeake Bay. Oysters play a vital role in keeping Bay waters clean while providing habitat for other local favorites like blue crabs, rockfish, and white perch. Even better? By enjoying oysters and recycling their shells, you’re helping to return even more oysters to the Bay — one reclaimed shell can host 10 times as many juvenile oysters.

The Oyster Recovery Partnership (ORP) works with Shell Recycling Alliance restaurants to collect these shells, making oyster restoration possible. So, show some love to these Bay-friendly restaurants during Chesapeake Oyster Week — simply slurp away knowing you’re helping the Bay thrive.
