Founder Pooja Bavishi has opened the first DC location of his South Asian-inspired ice cream shop, Malai, in the space formerly home to Ice Cream Jubilee off of 14th Street Corridor. Guests can enjoy their ice cream in their indoor or outdoor seating. Malai offers dairy and non-dairy flavors such as Ginger Root, Masala Chai, Red Chili Chocolate, and more. The flavors at Malai are rotated bi-monthly, with one flavor remaining on the menu permanently. In addition to scoop, Malai also offers Ice Cream Cakes, Ice Cream Sandwiches, Soft-Serve, and more. Malai is open Sunday - Thursday from 12:00 - 10:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 12:00 - 11:00 p.m. For more information, visit their website here.
