Justin Cara-Donna, Andrew Hurn, and Brent Kroll have opened a new 40-seat cocktail bar, Trouble Bird, in the space formerly home to Maxwell Park in Navy Yard. The playful bar devotes itself to giving a grandma's basement or lounge feel, without taking itself too seriously. This new concept offers a rotating menu and new takes on classics. The first theme guests can get excited for is "Breakfast for Dinner". There is also a "Thai-Italian" food menu with late-night bites, snacks, and sandwiches. The new space is inspired by a "dance party at VFW hall", with checkerboard tile, disco balls, velvet booths, and more. Trouble Bird is open Tuesday through Thurday from 5:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m., Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m., Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m., and Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.; For more information, visit their website here.
